In order to improve the analytical capacity of remote sensing and the reliability of retrieval processes applied to data collected from them, Atmospheric Science Group performs in situ ice cloud measurements by means of sounding balloons launched from Esrange Space Center, Kiruna.

The Far-Infrared Outgoing Radiation Understanding and Monitoring (FORUM), has been selected by ESA as one of the next missions to be developed within its Living Planet programme, devoted to observing Earth from space.

OTHER FUNDED PROJECTS


S3ME2 is the second prototype of a device thought to autonomously gathering environmental data for unlimited periods of time. It is being built at LTU, and will be installed in Iceland, where it will be used to support earthquakes precursors analysis while being tested.
